Overview

Espíritu Alma is a tequila brand that's all about the soul and spirit of Mexican culture, finding a balance between the vibrant, lively aspects and a rustic, desert feeling.

Naming & Logo

The name Espíritu Alma directly translates to the words "Spirit Soul", which encompasses what the brand is all about. The name was inspired by tequila being a distilled spirit and being able to lift the spirits of those who drink it.

The logo is a combination of an agave plant, the plant that tequila is derived from, and a dove, a symbol of love and a peaceful soul. The logo is made up of strokes in a continuous harmony to communicate the idea that tequila and a happy soul go hand in hand.

Typography

Nimbus Sans is used for heading and body copy and is paired with Nimbus Roman for subhead and secondary information.

Reflection

This was a passion project. With that being said, it was enjoyable from the beginning of concepting to the final photo editing in post-production. Being able to marry my love for photography and creating still-life scenes with my design work is always a ton of fun. It was also really nice working on a project that relates to my latinx identity.
